Costume Designer

COSTUME DESIGNER: Costumes the show and returns the costumes where they came from.

• Read the script and make a list of all costume needs and talk with director.
• Do research: what time frame, etc
• You will need a cast list from the Stage Manager
• Measure the cast.
• Give a list of the following to the SM:
  • Name of character,
  • The actor playing the character
  • Size chart of character.
  • Where we are getting the costume. Go to stock first and see can be used.
• If needed by_ give rental costume info to SM
• On _ give a report to the SM.
  • By this date, know where each costume is coming from.
  • The only costumes that you will not have by this time are rentals.
• Get dressers if needed to work back stage to assist actors and to make simple repairs.
• After the show, send back all the rented costumes in their original plastic covering and boxers with the original paper slips identifying each costume. It is also up to you to return all borrowed costumes to the proper owners and write a letter of thanks.
